United Concordia partners with New York company on real-time claims processing
National dental insurer United Concordia Cos. has partnered with a Great River, N.Y.-based company for real-time claims processing.
The Harrisburg, Pa.-based dental insurer, which covers more than 7.7 million members, is using the services of Tesia-PCI. The implementation process of Real Time Claims took just over two months to plan and launch.
“By connecting to Tesia-PCI’s Real Time Claims clearinghouse, United Concordia is able to reach nearly 70,000+ dental offices in real time. This ensures members are provided the most accurate information about their billing before they leave the dental office,” said Tesia-PCI President Marc Menendez.
The enhanced connectivity also will help reduce a doctor’s accounts receivables through balance billing on the spot, Menendez said. As a result, there will be a decreased need to call United Concordia to determine payment calculations, and it may eventually lead to elimination of paper EOBs, he added.
In 2007, United Concordia Dental processed more than 13 million claims and attained revenues of $1.3 billion.
