African American financial professionals conference set for April 27-28 in Washington, D.C.
A conference for African American financial professionals is scheduled for April 27-28 at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The Fourth Annual Conference for African American Financial Professionals provides attendees with an opportunity for financial services professionals to build their knowledge and advance their career through networking and interactive sessions, according to organizers. Educational workshops will be presented by industry thought leaders and successful African American financial professionals.
The conference is being offered by The American College, a Pennsylvania-based educational organization for insurance and financial service professionals, and is sponsored by MetLife, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Bankers Life and Casualty Co. and the Washington Informer newspaper.
Speakers scheduled to participate include Carla Harris, managing director in the Strategic Client Group at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and author of “Expect to Win: Proven Strategies for Success from a Wall Street Vet;” Billy R. Williams, president of Inspire a Nation Business Mentoring Services and author of “Don’t Let Your I.C.E.C.R.E.A.M. Get Messy;” and Joseph W. Jordan, senior vice president of national sales organization at MetLife, who is known for his “Living a Life of Significance” message.
More than 200 participants are expected to be in attendance.
The event will be held in the Howard University’s Blackburn University Center.
