The Pawtucket-R.I.-based insurer is also currently licensed in Massachusetts and New York, offering specialty insurance services and products to homeowners through a network of independent agents.

The company expects to start underwriting on July 1.

Geoff Hunt, executive vice president and treasurer of NBIC, said that the company is very excited about its entry into New Jersey.

“Through market research, we have determined that there is a significant need for additional admitted homeowners insurance capacity,” Hunt said in a statement. “NBIC looks forward to bringing significant capacity to leading independent agents in New Jersey.”
