Insurance providers and producers now have a new address for the Maryland Insurance Administration to use to avoid improperly filing key documents.
Effective today (May 4), the entire 250-employee MIA office, including the fraud division, will move to 200 St. Paul Place, Suite 2700, in Baltimore, Md. (21202).
All correspondence should be sent there to avoid being improperly filed, according to MIA Director of Public Affairs Karen Barrow.
In addition, any notices or other public correspondence issued by insurance companies in Maryland that refers consumers to the MIA must reflect the new address no later than Jan. 1, 2010, or risk violating several state statutes.
