National workers’ compensation provider opens New York office
Safety National, licensed to provide workers’ compensation insurance in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, has opened a new regional underwriting office in New York, N.Y.
Running the office are Sharon Herschlag and Dennis Zervos as regional underwriting managers, the company said, continuing Safety National’s efforts to bring underwriting capabilities closer to its customers. The provider plans to open additional regional offices over the next two years.
Herschlag has more than 30 years of claims and underwriting experience, including most recently as senior vice president managing American International Group‘s large excess units across the United States. Zervos has 26 years of underwriting experience, coming to Safety National from Zurich North America, where he was vice president of risk management.
Safety National has offered a range of alternative risk funding products through independent insurance agents and brokers since 1942. It is a leading provider of excess workers’ compensation coverage to self-insured employers and groups nationwide and offers large deductible workers’ compensation, assumed workers’ compensation reinsurance, Texas non-subscriber coverage, self-insurance bonds and other alternative risk programs.
