Atlantic County Woman indicted on disability insurance fraud charges
A Mays Landing, N.J., woman was indicted on charges that she illegally collected more than $4,000 by submitting fraudulent disability insurance claims.
Da’Lynn White, 30, faces charges of second-degree insurance fraud and third-degree theft by deception, in addition a pair of fourth-degree counts each of forgery and falsifying records, according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
The Atlantic County grand jury indictment alleges that White fraudulently collected a total of $4,357 form the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development between March 15 and 19, 2005. White allegedly gave the false impression that she and another co-worker were disabled and in the care of two doctors.
White reported to the department that she was pregnant, when she was not, the attorney general’s office reported. She allegedly falsely claimed her co-worker was injured in an accident on his way to work.
She faces a maximum of 18 years in prison and fines of up to $185,000 if found guilty on all charges.
