Palisades Safety and Insurance Management Corp. and Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. have entered into an agreement to aid New Jersey customers in gaining coastal insurance.
Through the agreement, Pawtucket, R.I.-based NBIC will offer coastal home insurance renewal quotes to former Proformance Insurance Co. customers. In 2008, Palisades, based in Berkeley Heights, N.J., acquired Proformance.
Ed Fernandez, president and CEO of Palisades, said the company’s partnership with Narragansett “is about taking care of customers and our independent agents by providing them with options.”
“We are excited to find a quality and financially strong home insurance partner like Narragansett to offer these solutions,” he said in a statement.
Geoff Hunt, NBIC’s executive vice president, said the company is committed to offering renewal coverage to coastal customers and to expanding its New Jersey market share. In April, NBIC was issued a license to begin writing property-casualty insurance in New Jersey, starting
July 1.
NBIC will begin extending offers to customers on coastal insurance Aug. 1, according to the company.
