When the CPCU Society holds it annual meeting in Denver in late summer, a new group of attendees may participate.
For the first time, non-CPCUs will be able to register for the Malvern, Pa.-based group’s 65th annual meeting and seminars Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.
The change comes as part of its “Embracing Changes’ theme for the event.
“The organization is reaching out to attract new talent for the property and casualty insurance industry at a time when large numbers of its Boomers are approaching retirement age and greater diversity among its workforce is a critical need,” according to a statement on the change.
The CPCU Society has nearly 28,000 members who hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, which requires passing eight undergraduate- and graduate- level examinations, meeting experience requirements, and agreeing to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics. The CPCU designation is conferred by the American Institute for CPCU.
