N.C. insurance adjuster charged with embezzling client’s premiums
The owner of a Greensboro, N.C., insurance adjusting firm has been accused of taking more than $89,000 in payments intended for one of her clients.
Ashley C. Waddell, 39, was arrested and charged with felony embezzlement, obtaining property by false pretense and writing a worthless check, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Waddell, who owns International Loss Services, allegedly took $89,314.52 in claims payments Farmers Insurance Company issued to one of her clients for damage caused by a house fire.
Additional charges are pending, according to the department.
