Atradius, which includes a trade credit insurance division, plans to move its main United States headquarters.
The company’s real estate broker, Cushman & Wakefield, announced that the firm has signed a long-term lease to move its headquarters 20 miles from White Marsh, Md., to a 21,000-square-foot office at Schilling Green, located at 230 Schilling Circle in Hunt Valley, Md., north of Baltimore, Md.
Eileen Jackson, a spokeswoman for Atradius, told IFAwebnews.com the move is to take place at the end of August and 100 Atradius employees will accompany the firm to its new headquarters.
Terms of the deal were not made public.
Schilling Green was fully redeveloped in 2008, according to Cushman & Wakefield, and is developer Merritt Properties’ second project registered with the U.S. Green Building Council, currently seeking LEED Gold certification.
Thomas Beckwith, CFO of Atradius, said the company “wanted to reduce our carbon footprint, improve our corporate image, and provide for a better work environment for our employees.”
“We were immediately attracted to the beauty of the building, its LEED status, and how nice the area is,” Beckwith said in a statement.
Tim Jackson, a senior director with Baltimore, Md.-based Cushman & Wakefield, who represented Atradius in the transaction, called the deal “a win-win for both parties” as it has matched “the perfect tenant for the perfect building.”
The Atradius Group provides trade credit insurance, bonding and collections services with more than 160 offices in 42 countries across the globe.
