Reston company earns extension on Virginia Medicaid, FAMIS Plus contracts
Virginia officials have awarded a three-year contract extension for the Virginia Medicaid and Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plus (FAMIS Plus) contracts to MAXIMUS Inc.
The deal between Reston, Va.-based MAXIMUS and the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services includes three one-year option periods.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Under the rebid contract, MAXIMUS will continue to provide education and enrollment broker services to more than 524,000 Medicaid-eligible Virginians eligible to participate in one of the Virginia managed care plans.
MAXIMUS CEO Richard Montoni said he was “delighted” to continue a relationship that has spanned six years and involved more than 225,000 enrollments in the programs.
MAXIMUS provides a range of administrative support for publicly funded health services and health insurance programs, with a particular emphasis on eligibility and enrollment for Medicaid managed care. MAXIMUS administers Medicaid managed care enrollment to12.5 million beneficiaries in 13 states.
