The Hanover targets independent agents with personal lines tweaks
The Hanover Insurance Group is hoping to give independent agents additional sales opportunities with a series of product, service and technology improvements it is making on its personal lines this year.
The introduction of assisted living coverage, which can be added to new or existing Connections Home policies, serves as the kick-off for the Worcester, Mass-based company’s “Think Hanover” program.
“‘Think Hanover’ is the tangible embodiment of the company’s unwavering commitment to being the best total account writer with an unrivaled sales and service experience for its partner agents,” the company said in a statement.

Marita Zuraitis, president of the company’s property-casualty companies, said the company is trying to provide tools to independent agents that help people, especially the growing number of baby boomers, with their “daily living.” The company seeks to “help our agent partners differentiate themselves in the marketplace by offering their customers valuable protection that they may have otherwise gone without,” she said in a statement.
“The investments and enhancements we plan to make in our personal lines business this year are further indications of our excellent financial position and our steadfast commitment to being the best partner for independent agents,” Zuraitis added.
The Hanover Insurance Group is the holding company for a group of insurers that includes The Hanover Insurance Co., also based in Worcester; Citizens Insurance Co. of America, headquartered in Howell, Mich., and their affiliates.
