An executive of E & K Agency of Eatontown and Lakewood, N.J., recently was honored for his contribution and commitment to the insurance industry.

Kenneth R. Auerbach

Kenneth R. Auerbach, a managing director and general counsel of E & K Agency, was named the Professional Agent of the Year by the Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey (PIANJ), one in a series of awards received by Auerbach in the last few years.

“Throughout his career, Ken has demonstrated a deep level of dedication to our industry.  He has earned the respect and trust from his colleagues and customers that he truly deserves,” said PIANJ President Gary C. Rygiel in a statement.

The PIANJ also awarded Auerbach with the Distinguished Insurance Service Award in 2007 for his service, dedication and leadership among independent agents and clients. PIA National gave Auerbach a presidential citation in 2005 for his work on agent’s compensation and disclosure issues. He also received the Director of the Year Award from PIANJ in 1998 for his great effort as a member of the board of directors.

Auerbach is president of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents, an association that represents more than 10,000 agencies and 100,000 professionals; a past director of an state-accredited insurance school, and a previous member of New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance Property & Casualty Producer Advisory Committee and a governor’s task force on the availability of homeowners insurance in the coastal region.
