Poll: Consumers overwhelmingly satisfied with their auto, home insurer
More than half of consumers with auto and homeowners insurance are satisfied with the companies providing their coverage, as well as with the experience of shopping for coverage, according to a new public opinion poll.
Exactly 91% of respondents with auto insurance said that they were either “very satisfied” or “fairly satisfied” with their auto insurer, according to study from the Insurance Research Council. Of that group, six in 10 “were very satisfied” with their insurer, while 30% were “fairly satisfied.”
Exactly 89% of homeowners gave favorable impressions of their carrier. About 56% said that they were “very satisfied” and another 33% were “fairly satisfied” with their homeowners insurance company.
Among respondents who had shopped for auto insurance in the previous 12 months, three out of four respondents gave favorable impressions, according to the poll. Twenty-four percent said they were “very satisfied” and 51% were “fairly satisfied” with the overall experience.
Nearly 70% of respondents were “very satisfied” or “fairly satisfied” with the range of product and price options they found.
“The healthy level of consumer satisfaction with auto and homeowners insurance is good news for the industry,” said Elizabeth Sprinkel, senior vice president of the IRC, in a statement.
