A Connecticut man was found to have misappropriated a $1,2000 check from a client’s variable annuity company, leading FINRA to bar him from associating with any FINRA members.
Andrew Seafus Prophet, a registered principal from Stratford, Conn., endorsed the check and deposited it into his own account after it had been mistakenly sent to the woman by the company providing her variable annuity, according to FINRA records.
The woman gave the check to Prophet to return, but instead he cashed it, officials said.
Prophet neither admitted or denied the allegations.
