Baucus says his health reform bill will address GOP concerns
How nice.
Sen. Max Baucus says that the bill he will introduce as part of the Obama Administration and Congress’s attempt at seizure (oops, I mean “overhaul”) of the nations health insurance and health delivery systems, should make Republicans happy. This according to a Washington Post story.
Not all Democrats are happy with his proposal, which does not call for a public option plan and bars illegal immigrants from obtaining coverage, according to IFAwebnews.com.
But what if Republicans aren’t happy with the Baucus proposal? Well, tough biscuits, according to Bloomberg news service. Democrats will simply push forward along party lines.
And what about the millions of Americans who are against this radical overthrow of one-sixth of the national economy? Those who know that a selective, item-by-item approach to improving our system is preferable to an action that is tantamount to a government takeover, and which will never be reversed once it starts to take the nation’s health — and economy — down the tank.
What about FIRST fixing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security? Getting rid of the hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud and waste, and THEN come back with a systematic approach to improve health insurance and health delivery?
