A Pennsylvania insurance adjuster and his company in New Hope, Pa., had their licenses revoked for misappropriating three settlement checks and failing to respond to requests for assistance from clients.
The Pennsylvania Insurance Department ordered the agent, Keith Allen York of Levittown, Pa., and his company, York Adjustment Co., to pay $4,000 in restitution. The man and his company also were placed on five-year license supervision, starting when and if they ever obtain an insurance license, according to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
York was found to have endorsed a $22,526.14 settlement check from NGM Insurance Co. and cashed it for personal use in December 2007, records show.
In April 2008, York adjusted a claim for another person, who later sought help on the claim from York, who did not respond to those requests or the requests of Harleysville Insurance Co., records show.
In September 2008, York received a $4,000 settlement check from State Farm Insurance Co. for another client and failed to remit the money to the person, records indicate. The restitution he must pay is from this claim.
