To help meet the need for added coverage to those working to improve the nation’s infrastructure, Travelers is paving the way with a new highway, street and road contractors program.

The Hartford, Conn.-based company developed the IndustryEdge program to meet the specific and risk management needs of these professionals, it said, who have 20 or more employees. Through feedback from its independent agents, Travelers said it built the program to provide a program that addresses general liability, workers compensation, umbrella, contractors pollution liability and other coverage for these specific professionals.

The product also features a collection of safety and risk management resources for contractors and benefits from Travelers’ experienced construction claims staff to work exclusively on handling claims fairly and efficiently, according to the company.

Travelers said the public demand for maintaining and adding to the nation’s 4 million miles of roads remains strong and is bolstered by the recent American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed earlier this year, hence increased opportunities for greater opportunities for these contractors.
