A new service to help agents pay for needed continuing education programs was recently unveiled by the Professional Insurance Agents Association of Virginia and DC (PIAVA/DC) and its carrier partners.

bookwork200The agents’ group announced the implementation of the PIAVA/DC Carrier Education Assistance Program, the culmination of months of work with the PIA’s Company Executive Advisor Council. The new program provides PIA member agents with education assistance funding to pay tuition, lodging, travel-related expenses, registration fees and other expenses for PIA’s CIC, CISR and CPIA designation programs and the PIA Annual Convention.

Only PIA company members, and only PIA member-agencies, in good standing, may participate in the program.

The PIAVA/DC said letters announcing the new program are being mailed to all member-agency principals, encouraging them to ask their carrier partners about participation and the agents’ group is also creating new pages on their website about the initiative.

GMAC Insurance and Grange Mutual have already committed to the new education initiative, according to the PIAVA/DC.
