Main Street America adds small business products in five new states

The Main Street America Group introduced its new Main Line business owners policy property and liability insurance product and the Main Street Station for Commercial Lines quoting and policy issuance system for independent agents in five states.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based company has added Maryland, New York, New Hampshire, Tennessee and Virginia, making the product and system available in 14 of the states  where Main Street America writes commercial lines business.

The product features 10 programs – condominium associations, garages, restaurants, light manufacturing, wholesale, retail, services, offices, apartments and contractor programs – with nearly 500 eligible classes.

The new product also has significantly increased limits, with many new or expanded coverages, according to the company.

The new quoting and processing system features real time rating, automated underwriting and business submission, all from one central place.

“Our new system makes it a snap to quote and submit business,” Henry Pippins, Main Street America’s vice president of commercial lines, said in a statement. “Our agents appreciate the system’s intuitive workflow and navigation, and how quickly they can enter data and receive a quote,” Pippins said. “This new system really improves agents` ease of doing business with Main Street America.”

Nearly 500 of the super regional property-casualty insurance carrier’s independent agents from New York State, Main Street America’s largest state in terms of premium volume, attended kickoff meetings throughout the Empire State to learn about the new product’s broad eligibility, and new and expanded coverages. Kickoff meetings were also well-attended by the company’s independent agent distribution force in the other four new launch states, according to Main Street America.

Main Street America insures more than 600,000 policyholders with more than $800 in premium written exclusively by its more than 1,500 independent insurance agents.
