New York man faces fraud charges for reporting motorcycle as stolen
An Endicott, N.Y., man could face seven years in prison if convicted on charges of falsely reporting his motorcycle stolen and selling it five months later.
Robert J. Wagner, 31, was arrested following an investigation by the frauds bureau of the New York State Insurance Department.
An investigator determined that Wagner allegedly sold the motorcycle five months after filing a insurance claim with State Farm indicating it was stolen. The fraud was discovered, the agency said, when another individual attempted to obtain a title and registration for the motorcycle.
Wagner was never paid for the claim he filed with State Farm, according to the insurance department.
