ARI Insurance Co., located in Lawrenceville, N.J. and specializing in commercial auto insurance, has agreed to purchase multiple idrive X1 cameras from Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Solutions Group.

Solutions Group said in a statement that ARI “placed an initial substantial order” for the product, which it said is proven to reduce accident rates and has been well received by the insurance industry. ARI is now the seventh insurance company to purchase the idrive product line.

“A partnership with idrive demonstrates ARI’s commitment to safer New Jersey roads and long-term profitable relationships with our customers,” said J. Tucker Ericson, senior vice president for ARI, in a statement. “idrive gives our insured the tools they need to run a more efficient fleet during these tough economic times.”

Stefan Dragomire of Solutions Group said ARI “is very well respected” in the industry and the company is “excited to be working with them.

“This partnership further demonstrates the success of our business model to create mutually beneficial relationships with major insurance companies to lessen the financial impact of deploying idrive cameras for fleet owners,” Dragomire said. “These insurance companies recognize that installing idrive cameras in fleet automobiles will result a reduction in accident frequency, and therefore claims dollars paid out.”
