Life applications rise 4.1% overall, spurred by 60+ age group
U.S. application activity for individually underwritten life insurance rose 4.1% in November for all ages, compared to the same period in 2008.
The MIB Life Index found that the 60+ age group had the best growth, at 18.8%, when compared to November 2008.
Activity among people age 45-59 also rose, by 6.7%, for the month. The group has show “nascent growth” since June, according to the index’s authors.
The 0-44 age group had no growth, according to the monthly report.
For the first 11 months of the year, application activity has improved progressively since March. However, it was flat in November, at minus 0.4%.
