Harleysville Insurance has added well child care centers to the accounts that can be insured under its OthersFirst Protection Package.

OthersFirst is directed to the needs of the human services industry, specifically for those with physical or intellectual disabilities, the disadvantaged, the elderly and others requiring special care and assistance.

With the expansion, the Harleysville, Pa.-based company is making OthersFirst available to facilities including before- and after-school day care programs, nursery schools and preschools.

The company said the product offers “a solid foundation” for a day care center’s insurance program and the addition of optional broadened coverage forms provides protection for specific risks inherent to the market, such as professional liability coverage, abuse coverage and a workplace violence endorsement.

OthersFirst is available in 28 states, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, as well as Washington, D.C.
