Former North Carolina agent charged with embezzling premiums
A former North Carolina insurance agent was arrested and charged with allegedly keeping premium payments from her clients.
Wendy C. McGuire, 31, of Fremont, N.C., faces one count of embezzlement, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Investigators with the department allege that from June to December, McGuire took $7,444.79 in insurance premiums rather than forwarding the money to her employer, Chris Challender, the owner of Challender Insurance Agency in Greenville, N.C.
McGuire voluntarily surrendered her license to the department in July.
