Marc Malloy, Coventry Health Care of Delaware’s CEO for just over two years, is no longer in that position.

David Reynolds, an executive with more than 20 years of health insurance experience, was named CEO of the health plan, which serves Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, according to a note to brokers sent Nov. 30, 2009.

Officials at the health plan’s offices in Wilmington, Del., declined comment about Malloy’s departure, referring inquiries about whether he remains employed in any capacity by Coventry to corporate headquarters in Bethesda, Md.

“We respectfully decline to comment on your story,” a spokeswoman for the parent company said in a voice mail message to IFAwebnews.com.

Malloy joined Coventry’s Delaware operations in September 2007, moving from Coventry Health Care of Georgia, where he was chief operating officer since 2004. He replaced Al Redmer Jr., who resigned as insurance commissioner in Maryland to take the Coventry job.
