A Kentucky insurance agent was fined $5,000 after forging customer’s signatures, placed on illustrations that were never shown to customers.

Robert Kenneth Roeding, a registered representative in Bellevue, Ky., also was suspended from associating with an FINRA member for three months, ending Feb. 15, according to FINRA records.

Roeding forged public customers’ signatures to illustrations reiterating the possible benefits of insurance policies and signed the illustrations, falsely certifying that he presented the information contained in the illustrations to the customers, FINRA investigators determined. He also certified with his forged signatures that he did not make statements that were inconsistent with the illustrations. He then submitted the illustrations to his member firm’s affiliated insurance company for processing, FINRA records show.

Roeding neither admitted nor denied FINRA’s findings.
