Insurer AmeriHealth New Jersey was recently awarded the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year award for its contributions to the community and dedication to excellence, according to the organization.

The Elizabeth, N.J.-based company was recognized for leading the way “in bringing quality, affordable care” to New Jersey residents, said Joseph Barbanel, chairman of the commerce group in presenting the award.

Judith Roman, AmeriHealth New Jersey’s president and chief operating officer said in a statement the company was “delighted” to be recognized with the honor.
