FINRA fines man $3,500 for failing to disclose accounts in wife’s name

A Horsham, Pa., registered representative was fined $3,500 for failing to disclose brokerage accounts in which he had an interest that were held in his wife’s name at other firms.

Richard John Iavecchia was fined by FINRA and suspended from associating with any FINRA members for 60 days, ending Feb. 4, according to FINRA records.

Rather than disclose the accounts in his wife’s name, as he was required, Iavecchia falsely answered “not applicable” to questions pertaining to the outside brokerage accounts on his firm’s compliance questionnaires. He also failed to inform the executing firms of his association with his member firm and made material misrepresentations on a new account document that he filled out for one of his wife’s outside accounts, FINRA records show.

Iavecchia neither admitted nor denied the FINRA findings.
