Assurant Specialty Property has added multifamily housing as a new distribution channel for ID Fraud Solutions, its consumer identity protection program.

The Atlanta-based provider said property managers who participate in its renters insurance programs also may offer ID Fraud Solutions as an optional program to residents. The program can be customized to include single or triple daily credit monitoring, public records monitoring and personalized identity restoration services, according to the company.

“Identity theft is a continuing problem, and it can impact victims in many ways, including their credit scores,” Steven Hein, national sales manager for Assurant Specialty Property’s renters insurance business, said in a statement. “Since many property managers consider credit scores when reviewing lease applications, it is just good business to offer residents programs that they can use to protect and potentially improve their financial health.”
