A registered representative was barred by FINRA for misappropriating auto insurance and variable life insurance premium checks, totaling about $6,000.

Gina Marie Crawford Sims of Gastonia, N.C., was ordered not to associate with any FINRA members in any capacity, effectively ending her ability to sell securities.

She was found in a FINRA investigation to have deposited a customer’s check of $928.78 for auto insurance premiums by putting it in her account, rather than giving it to her member firm, FINRA records show. She later reimbursed the customer.

She also deposited in her own account $5,148 in premium checks collected from people buying variable life insurance policies.

Sims also failed to appear for an on-the record interview with FINRA investigators.
