BAHU, GWAHU health executive panel set for March 24 in Columbia
Top executives from several regional health insurance and provider firms will participate in a “CEO Panel Discussion on Market Reform” on March 24 in Columbia, Md.
The morning event, co-sponsored by the Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters (BAHU) and the Greater Washington Association of Health Underwriters (GWAHU), will cover such topics as the future of employer-sponsored health plans, health insurance connectors/exchanges, state regulation, possible interstate sales of individual health insurance, effects of reforms on hospitals and physicians, Medicare/Medicaid, and the impact of national elections.
Attendees will be eligible for one hour of Maryland continuing education credit.
Representing carriers and hospitals will be Jim Cronin, CEO of UnitedHealthcare of the mid-Atlantic; Tom Grote, president, Aetna Small Group Capitol Region; Chet Burrell, CEO of CareFirst; and Mike Curran, executive vice president and CFO of Medstar Health.
The panel’s moderator will be Janet Trautwein, CEO of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).
The event will be held at the Hilton in Columbia, Md.,from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Cost for NAHU members is $25; non-member cost is $50.
