The Hanover has acquired a provider of insurance solutions to expand its liability offerings to the design professionals industry.
The Massachusetts-based property-casualty provider said it acquired Benchmark Professional Insurance Services to boost its offerings to architects and engineers. The Hanover’s new architects and engineers program will offer value-added services, a policy form with new coverages, a wide range of limit options (from $100,000 up to $10 million) and deductible options, including a $0 deductible option for small firms, according to the company.
The Hanover also announced the build-out of its professional liability product suite and its miscellaneous professional liability business.
The company’s new miscellaneous professional liability program, Hanover Miscellaneous Professional Liability Advantage, offers small and mid-sized businesses an affordable, flexible solution that can be tailored to meet their needs. Highlights of the program include claim expense limit available outside of policy limit and up to $10 million limits.
“The expansion of our professional liability capabilities is just one example of our firm commitment to investing in the people, products and services needed to be the best partner for growing independent agents,” said Frederick H. Eppinger, chief executive officer of The Hanover, in a statement. “By strategically adding distinctive capabilities, we are offering our partner agents new ways to strengthen their competitive position and grow their businesses over the long term.”
