Warren, N.J.-based Chubb, a division of Federal Insurance Co. and subsidiary of The Chubb Corp., will provide the coverages for New York-based Starr Indemnity, a subsidiary of Starr International Co. The coverages will be underwritten directly by Starr Indemnity.

Charles H. Dangelo, Starr Indemnity’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement his firm is “excited” about the partnership with Chubb, “one of the most highly-rated property and casualty companies in the industry.

“This arrangement provides Starr Indemnity with a complete solution for our customers in the construction, energy and environmental industries by complementing our existing broad array of product offerings,” he said.

John J. Degnan, vice chairman and chief operating officer for The Chubb Corp., called their new partner “an experienced and proven team in the construction workers’ compensation arena” and thinks the new pact will be beneficial for both firms.

The target segments for the coverages are contractors, energy resources customers, energy/environmental consultants, and manufacturers of energy or environmental-related products.
