President Obama and Nancy Pelosi are like the California man who called 911 and claimed that the gas pedal on his Toyota was stuck, requiring a police car to force the 90-mile-per-hour car to a halt.
Like the man who might have put his life on the line to generate a lawsuit and few dollars, both Obama and Pelosi appear to also be operating a scam and are willing to put their political lives on the line.
America — including insurance agents and consumers — is against using reconciliation or any other means to force legislation into law. America wants Congress to scrap the bills, focus on the economy and job creation, and then revisit health care reform in a strategic, thoughtful manner.
Health care reform is a prime concern for our country, but the manner in which it is being addressed, and the costs and sacrifice being thrust upon the American people, is unconscionable.

They are so crazy people .The health care reform bill now is similar to their bill back in 1993 ,so why they oppose It ??? They said waite & start over ,when ? how long ? We have been waiting for 60 years , how long more ? Shame on them.
Now even Catholic Nuns who never involved in politic urge congress pass heath care reform .
When they know the bill will pass ,this morning one republican congressman said “Insurance companies should not make profit on sick people ,should not deny pre-existing condition …. go on and go on ” .if so why they oppose the reform ??? what a shame !According to Republican party claim ,Sarah Palin is the smartest one in group and here is what She said ” We used to hustle on over the border for health care ….and I think,isn’t that kind of ironic now ? ” She admitting that her family used to go to Canada for medical treatment when she was a child , Canada has a single -payer system , which Palin oppose ! (Too bad for Canadian tax payers )
Limbaugh the second smart one in the group also said ” I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.” .well too bad ,Costa Rica has had health care for all in 60 years already.( should Costa Rica taxpayers cover health care for this mad man ? )
Republicans :Don’t You learn any thing from housing crisis ? like housing cost in the past ,health care cost is out of control .the next crisis will be health care crisis if health care reform failed ,millions of people may die .

Here are questions for You :1 – Why we are the only industrial country on earth not have health care for all ? Look at all countries in EU ,England ,France , Italy ,Germany , Japan , Korea ,Canada,Israel ,Spain , …… Even dictatorship countries like Cuba ,Iran ……offer health care for their citizens .
Do you think we are smarter than the rest of the world ? if You say We can not afford it why we can afford $ 700 billions a year or $ 7 trillion in 10 years on military ( spend on bombs & guns ) ?
What do you expect people around the world think about us when they see We bring injured Dog from Iraq here for treatment ,while we left 50 millions of our own people with out medical care ? ,for sure they think We are insane !!!.
Is your heart breaking when you see thousands of people get in line at midnight under cold weather each time they have FREE check up ? how about a woman never has chance to see doctor in 27 years ?2 – Do you and your family have health insurance if Yes so why not 50 millions of your fellow citizens NOT ?
3 – How would you feel when any member of your family dies because of having no health insurance ? Think about 45 thousands of your fellow citizens and children die every year because of laking health care .

Many people support or oppose may not tell full story . Think about many years a go 99 % of people believed the earth was flat .Remember back at the time when many of us believed Women should not be allowed to vote ?
Not long ago 80 % of people opposed medicare & social security bill at that time .

March 17th, 2010 at 5:16 pmI am an independent and I will not vote for anyone supporting this particular bill. It is the wrong way to fix healthcare in this country. There are some good parts to be sure including fixing the anti-trust exemption, mandating insurance, opening markets across state lines and making sure pre-existing conditions don’t bar access along with malpractice suit reform. A balanced approach has the best chance at actually reducing costs. This bill however isn’t it and will most likely increase overall costs when government spending is taken into consideration.

The feds do have the power to regulate interstate commerce so they can regulate insurance markets so why is it they are not simply doing that? Opening up insurance markets across state lines, getting rid of pre-existing conditions clauses and limiting medical malpractice issues. Socialism is the wrong direction for this country. All industrialized countries experience lower birth rates and this ultimately dooms any welfare state were birthrates decline below 3. Just look at Greece and Germany isn’t far behind. The Constitution never invisioned a socialized state and I don’t believe it’s time to start now!

If you want to reduce medical and drug cost let’s just stop all the research into new drugs and medical techniques and equipment and that will cut out a huge part of why our medicine is so expensive. Well someone has to pay for it and it doesn’t come cheap. We have the best medical treatment in the free world even though it’s not affordable for everyone. In 1993 Bill Clinton (A DEMOCRAT) was the POTUS, and Congress was control by the DEMOCRATS. After the Health care fiasco then, REPUBLICANS controlled congress, starting in 1995. So if Republicans don’t like the bill now, and it is similar, that is not a surprise.
This bill is an absolute joke. All those reasons you listed have nothing to do with this health care bill, it’s just a strawman. Pretending the bill will do something doesn’t make it so.
I highly doubt that 80% of people opposed SS and Medicare and I’d like to see some stats on there, since there was also BIPARTISAN support on both of those acts. In addition, it’s not like anyone is going to voluntarily give up their benefits now, since they’ve been paying into it for years. SS and Medicare are supposed to be like retirement programs, not taxes.

Guess what, well established economic theory states that there when multiple persons compete for limited resources then either a beauracratic system will decide who gets the resources or market principles will. In a market based system supply/demand dictate and cost is the measurement. Yes, haves will get more than have nots however ones own abilities generally decide how well one does.

Canada’s system is so amazing. That’s why Danny Williams, a Canadian Provincial Premier, came to the US for an open heart surgery in February 2010.
Grow up, America’s costs maybe out of control but never doubt we have the best health care in the world, bar none. We need reform, but a public option or universal health care will only create rationing and rob us of what makes our system great: innovation. Canada’s system is reaching over 10% GDP, out pacing inflation and population growth, and the only reason it isn’t higher is because of a mandatory cap (hence the shortages).

I am in favor of making coverage to all Americans, dealing with pre-existing conditions, allowing consumers to shop across state lines, prevent insurers from denying coverage, and lowering health care costs by dealing directly with tort reform and making Medicare solvent so doctors don’t have to make up lost wages by charging the insurance companies for the deficits imposed by the federal government.

The american healthcare system will suffer similar situations as Europe. First of all, the MAJORITY of the benefits do not even take affect for another FOUR YEARS! The really funny part of this is that all the democrats trying to push their healthcare agenda, make it sound like Betsy Sue laying in a hospital bed today is going to reap some benefit from this bill. THIS BILL IS NOT GOING TO HELP ANYONE TODAY, TOMORROW, OR EVEN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. Additionally, the CBO has scored the costs of the Healthcare plan on what it has been given by the House. HOwever, the “doc fix” bill -which is substantial cost was not included in the figures returned by the CBO. End result – we are incurring more debt and there is no savings. Read up on this people…if you vote yes for this bill, you are voting Yes for higher taxes, less jobs, compromised medical care, the IRS breathing down your neck, and the lists go on an on. I will be paying for this and so will my children. If this passes and it could because of the dirty deals the dems are pushing through…oh, and they are dirty…..this is not anything good for the country. Caterpillar, one of the nations largest employers, has said it will cost them $100 million dollars to insure their employees…they can’t afford that…what happens next? Job layoffs…
