Harleysville Insurance feted twice for its information technology work
Harleysville Insurance was recognized by CIO magazine and ACORD for its information technology accomplishments.
CIO magazine named the Harleysville, Pa.-based super regional insurer one of its “CIO 100,” which cites organizations each year that have distinguished themselves by creating the greatest business value through the effective and innovative use of IT. The “CIO 100” represents those entities globally that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in IT, according to the magazine.
ACORD, a global standards development organization, selected Harleysville as one of seven insurance companies to receive its “Property Casualty Round Trip of Data Award.” The award recognizes those companies that have automated the life cycle of data utilizing ACORD standards and forms. That includes encouraging its agents to use current ACORD forms, real time rating/submission, policy download and endorsement processing.
“At Harleysville Insurance, our goal is to use technology to make it as easy as possible for our agency partners to do business with us, and they do indeed tell us that the significant improvements we’ve made to our systems have served to enhance their ease of doing business,” said Michael L. Browne, president and chief executive officer, in a statement. “These honors validate the course we’ve taken to implement innovative technology that will best serve our employees, agents and policyholders.”
