Elephant donating $10 to Gulf oil spill recovery for each online quote
Elephant Auto Insurance is starting a new campaign to help raise money to restore the environment and wildlife that have been affected by the Gulf Coast oil disaster.
The Richmond, Va.-based direct-to-consumer auto insurer said donations to its campaign will be donated to the National Wildlife Foundation.
The National Wildlife Federation has been working in the Gulf of Mexico since BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill in an effort to perform “search and rescue”on affected wildlife along the Louisiana Gulf coast.
Elephant’s Give for the Gulf will donate $10 for every completed Virginia online auto insurance rate quote this month, according to the company.
“As a former Louisiana resident, I know almost firsthand the impact this is having on the environment, the people, and their livelihoods. At Elephant, we believe we have a responsibility to give back to the community and the environment,” said Andrew Rose, CEO of Elephant Auto Insurance, in a statement. “While we are based in Virginia, we all see the impacts of the disaster in the Gulf.”
