D.C.-area insurance agent loses license for falsifying paperwork

A Germantown, Md., woman had her insurance license revoked after she admitted to falsifying a certificate of liability insurance.

The Maryland Insurance Administration revoked the license of Tracy Anne Teves, who was issued her license Sept. 27, 2009, MIA records show.

The MIA received a complaint from State Farm Insurance Co. saying it had terminated Teves for engaging in unethical sales practices.

An MIA investigation included a review of Teves’ former agency, where it discovered that the certificate of liability insurance had been falsified, records show. When interviewed by the MIA, Teves admitted modifying the CLI form.
