Carrier awards grants to organizations where its employees volunteer
Highmark awarded $9,500 in grants to 19 nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania through its volunteer grant program.
The Highmark Employee Volunteer Grant program awards $500 grants each quarter to nonprofit community organizations where Highmark employees volunteer.
The following 19 organizations received a grant third quarter 2010: Better Days Animal League in Franklin; Boy Scout Troop 222 and Greenwood Newport Midget Football Association in Perry; Cub Scout Pack 59, Etters VFW Memorial Day Celebration, NEYSA Competition Cheerleading and Northern York County Relay for Life in York; Cumberland Singers, the Katie Herb Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Cumberland; Dress for Success and Estamos Unidos de Pennsylvania in Dauphin; Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia; Girl Scouts of Central Maryland in Harford; The Nanty Glo Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary in Cambria; Pennsylvania Dutch Council Boy Scouts of America in Lancaster; Shadyside Food Pantry in Belmont; Soroptimist International of Albuquerque in Bernalillo; and Vincentian Home in Allegheny.
Grants are awarded to organizations that do not already receive contributions through Highmark’s corporate giving program. An organization is eligible to receive one grant each year through the program.
