Dominion Dental Services has exceeded 500,000 members, expanding its membership base threefold in the past five years due to partnerships with health plans that have contracted with the company for dental benefits.

Alexandria, Va.-based Dominion Dental provides and administers dental and vision benefits in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., with a listing of 170,000 dentists nationwide.

Mike Davis, president of Dominion Dental, predicted aggressive growth going forward.

“Our people, technology, capabilities and service levels have never been better,” he said. “We believe that we are positioned to reach 1 million members in the next 18 to 24 months.”

Dominion Dental, a division of Harrisburg, Pa.-based Capital BlueCross, recently acquired the dental network of Rayant Insurance in Pennsylvania and partnered with PPO USA.
