NJ Young Professional Agents golf outing May 5

New Jersey Young Insurance Professionals Association is holding its 24th annual Golf Open on May 5, 2014.
The event will be held at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Branchburg, N.J.
The day will begin with a hot breakfast, followed by a shotgun start to the golf outing, which features a scramble format.
There will be additional time for networking during the buffet lunch.

Maryland I-Day slated for May 8

The Maryland CPCU Society Chapter, Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland, and the International Association of Insurance Professionals will co-sponsor the 25th Annual Maryland I-Day on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Maritime Institute, Linthicum Heights, Md.

Registration for the daylong educational, networking and information event begins at 7:30 a.m.; the program begins at 8 a.m.

The theme for this year's event is "Catastrophes and the Impact on Insurance."

Keynote speaker will be Evelyn Browning-Garriss, who has been dubbed the “Weather Whisperer” and is known as “The Weather Lady."

PSLA annual meeting set for May 8 in Camp Hill

The Pennsylvania Surplus Lines Association will hold its 2014 annual meeting on Thursday, May 8, at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg in Camp Hill, Pa.
The meeting will bring together colleagues from different facets of the industry. It is designed to keep members informed of changes in the industry, emerging risks and any regulatory developments.
The meeting will include remarks by a representative of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
Following the election of new officers, a lunch will be held.

ARLHU set for Atlantic City, May 12-14

The New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters and NAIFA-New Jersey have announced that the 2014 Atlantic Regional Life and Health Underwriters (ARLHU) Conference will be held May 12-14 at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.

The event will include opportunities to network with customers, colleagues and suppliers, and starts with the annual ARLHU Golf Outing at Seaview Dolce on Monday. Following will be CE sessions, the NJAHU House of Delegates meeting, a Welcome Cocktail reception and a preview of the latest in products, services and programs from leading suppliers.

Keynote speaker will be Chip Eichelberger, formerly Tony Robbins’ international point man.

Featured speaker will be Jessica Waltman, senior vice president of Government Affairs for the National Association of Health Underwriters.

For the first time, all ARLHU registration will be conducted online.

IIAV to ‘roast’ David Priest, May 15

Va. health underwriters sets annual conference for May 19-20

The Virginia Association of Health Underwriters will host its annual conference from May 19-20, 2014.
The two-day event will be held at The Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va. The conference will feature exhibitors and informative educational sessions.
Featured speakers headlining the conference include John Peterson, counsel and member, Kaufman and Canoles and William A. Hazel Jr. M.D., Secretary of Health and Human Resources, Commonwealth of Virginia. The keynote address will be given by Steven Gilliland, professional speaker and comedian.

Annual MAHU Symposium slated for May 20

The Maryland Association of Health Underwriters is hosting its 11th annual Maryland State Educational Symposium on Tuesday, May 20, in Linthicum Heights, Md. It will be preceded by a cocktail reception and the annual awards dinner on Monday, May 19.
The Educational Symposium will include a legislative update by Bryson Popham. Among the guest speakers are Dr. Peter Bielenson, Evergreen Health Co-op, discussing “Self-funding in the Era of ACA,” as well as Jennifer Berman, who will present “Understanding Obamacare: Making Sense of the Affordable Care Act.”

NJAHU sets annual golf meet for late May

The Monmouth/Ocean chapter of New Jersey Health Underwriters Association will host its annual golf outing on Thursday, May 29, 2014.

The yearly event will be held at the Jumping Brook Country Club, Neptune, N.J.

In addition to golf, the outing will include a boxed lunch, dinner, cocktails and prizes.

Payment will also be allowed this year through online payment system PayPal.
