The country’s largest general insurance agency, BenefitMall, merged with CompuPay, a payroll solutions company, as it looks to accelerate its growth.

A Dallas-based general agency has “established ourselves as a dominant player” in North Jersey with its acquisition of NAS Financial Services, a general agency based in Morristown, N.J., according to its president and CEO.

Two reports – one prepared for two Maryland insurance industry trade groups and the other for a general agency operating in the state – reach a similar conclusion: that the Maryland system for delivering health insurance works better than the Massachusetts health exchange.
