As part of Gov. Ed Rendell’s comprehensive health care reform plan, Prescription for Pennsylvania, the governor’s office is detailing how to best shift the state to an electronic system of health records.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley has signed into law legislation that will force insurance companies to provide incentives for doctors to use electronic medical records.
As a direct result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) – also known as ObamaCare – health insurance agent and broker commissions have been slashed by as much as 50%. Agencies have been forced to lay off employees, limit products and services, shift to other lines, and have seen significant drops in compensation.
