IWIF Workers Compensation Insurance is planning its third annual Maryland Workplace Health & Wellness Symposium for June 1.

The Maryland General Assembly passed a bill in its waning hours April 9 that renames and repositions the Injured Workers Insurance Fund as a private company.

Gerard E. Holthaus was elected board chairman for Baltimore Life, based in Owings Mills, Md. He has been a member of Baltimore Life’s board of directors since 1998.

R. Steven Orr joined IWIF Workers’ Compensation Insurance as senior vice president of information systems, after serving for nine months as a consultant to the Towson, Md.-based workers’ compensation insurer.
