New Jersey Governor-Elect Chris Christie has selected Tom Considine, a 17-year employee of MetLife, to become the state’s next commissioner of banking and insurance.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has awarded the state of New Jersey a $4.2 million performance bonus for its efforts to decrease the number of uninsured children in the state.

New Jersey officials will track and seek to enroll the state’s uninsured children in a new way: a simple check box on tax forms.
