Wisconsin drivers must be able to provide proof of auto insurance under a new law that took effect June 1, leaving New Hampshire as the only state not mandating coverage.

Two industry groups are praising Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle for signing into law tough new rules on stranger-originated life insurance (STOLI) transactions, while another organization indicates the measure will deny consumer rights.

Joining states including Pennsylvania and New York, Wisconsin has expanded health insurance coverage to young adults through their parents plans.
