Gov. David A. Paterson has signed a new law that takes effect immediately to increase access to health care for volunteer fire and ambulance workers in New York.
Six medical providers have reimbursed state officials more than $2.4 million to cover the cost of inflated billings submitted to the New York State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP).
As a direct result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) – also known as ObamaCare – health insurance agent and broker commissions have been slashed by as much as 50%. Agencies have been forced to lay off employees, limit products and services, shift to other lines, and have seen significant drops in compensation.
