Pennsylvania Gov.-elect Tom Corbett has named a team of 17 insurance industry officials to serve on his transition team overseeing insurance matters.

Several representatives of the health care industry told a Pennsylvania Senate committee that its bill to create a single-payer system in the state does not control costs or guarantee more people get health care.

A little over halfway through his tenure as Pennsylvania’s insurance commissioner, Joel Ario feels he has a lot of work ahead of him.
