Michigan officials say Omnicare, owner of Specializes Pharmacy Services, will pay $11.6 million to settle a whistle-blower case brought under the Michigan Medicaid False Claim Act.
A whistleblower’s accusations led federal prosecutors to issue a civil False Claims Act complaint against an Augusta, Ga.-based Medicare provider and its former owner, alleging they submitted fraudulent claims for more than $690,000.
The parent company of two New Jersey hospitals will pay the federal government $7.95 million to resolve allegations that the facilities defrauded the Medicare program.
